Bed (and Sometimes Breakfast)
Casa Abierta features three main floor bedrooms, each with its own ensuite, 3-pce bathroom that includes your own private toilet, sink and shower. In addition to two beds, each room is furnished with a chair, a table lamp, two nightstands and personal space to hang your clothes and store your luggage are available in each room.
Also included is a backpack style beach chair and cooler for use throughout your stay. (Additional chairs can be borrowed for an additional contribution.) Two of the bedrooms include full-length mirrors made by local craftspeople.

The rest of the unit is shared with the other two bedrooms, and features a large, well-equipped kitchen, living and dining area with ample seating, several books and board games, a small courtyard with a view up to the stars at night, and generous patio looking out to a garden with mango and coconut trees and lots of other Mexican plants! There’s also an outdoor sink and BBQ grill (wood or charcoal) that all are welcome to use.
On some dates, access to a terrace on the second floor is also available. A shared outdoor shower is located at the front of the property, ideal for washing sandy feet when returning from the beach, or just cooling off on a hot day.

Please note, the laundry/storage room is off limits (longer stays include weekly linen change and light cleaning, and laundry access can be arranged with prior agreement). The entire property is strictly non-smoking, and acoustic music is strongly preferred over anything amplified..
Between November and April, the first night of your stay includes a tasty, homemade breakfast the next morning: Your choice of eggs and toast, oatmeal with cane sugar, nuts and fresh fruit or assorted breads with cheeses. (This applies only when we are on site, otherwise you are on your own for breakfast, sorry!!) When available, additional breakfasts after the first night can be arranged, and recommendations for an in-home chef service are available. There are also a number of small grocery shops and fruterias in the area, as well as a supermercado across the highway near the gas station. Many of them deliver locally.

This bedroom is closer to the front of the house, opposite the courtyard for gorgeous morning sunshine, and features a queen and a double. One window and the door overlook the courtyard, while the other window frames one of three murals by a local painter on the outside wall.

Bedroom 2 - Garden Room
Located towards the back of the house, this bedroom is closest to the garden, and next to the laundry room. It features two double beds. The room is painted a light blue with a medium blue accent wall, and includes two large mirrors (not shown in photo).

Bedroom 3 - Rainbow Room
Next to the courtyard and across the hall from the Bedroom 2, this third bedroom also has a private ensuite bathroom, and features two twin beds and a built-in closet organizer. Its name references the bright paint colours applied during recent renovations to the house and the colourful, locally-sourced bedspreads.
